It is my intent that these plans can move parents/guardians forward both in the near future and beyond. We have to start somewhere!! Perhaps our new pastor and her family can assist in these efforts. I am very encouraged by the prospects of bringing the love of Jesus and His mission to the youth.
Onward!

Archived Sunday School Lesson Plans

These documents are intended for you to use as a guide or reference for your child or children. They correspond to each week’s lesson here at UMC, but they can be applied at any time.

The plans are quite basic but provide a good starting point from which to conduct your lesson or class. There is, in most cases, quite a bit of content, probably more than you may wish to offer in one sitting, but this allows you to choose what is most suitable for your child.

(You will note the format varies from week to week until the middle of March when we formalized the process.)

The links will take you to YouTube videos corresponding to the week’s lesson. They are divided into songs and segments from movies and religious programming.

We have categorized certain portions for age-appropriateness.  This is especially true for the videos: to be sure, some of the Bible stories may not be suitable for young or sensitive children; we recommend you, as the parent/teacher review all this content beforehand, both to familiarize yourself with it, and assess the content.

You will note that we reference The Action Bible in our group readings. It is in graphic novel form, one that young people find quite compelling. Copies can be purchased online or at select religious bookstores. There are many other pictorial Bibles for children that will generally contain the same stories.

As co-author of these lessons, I welcome your input, reactions, and questions. It is our collective desire to raise our youth in the knowledge and presence of God’s love and provide them with a strong foundation of Christian beliefs and principles.
