RECAP – COFFEE WITH THE PASTOR – March 9, 2022
There will be a couple of things that will be different this Sunday, March 13th. Daylight savings time will return to us this weekend and we will be moving our clocks forward one hour on Saturday night. We will also be holding our first in a series in Forums at 9:00 AM. Pastor Dave will give a brief presentation on the latest updates with the UMC Conference and then give a couple of thoughts on what the future holds after which discussions will proceed. We will complete the conversation on Sunday March 27th. On the first Sunday in April, he will hold the 2nd in the series of Forums regarding the unraveling of all the institutions that western civilization has built and how that unraveling impacts our church and our missions.
Finally, there is a Lenten Discipline Series which is a discussion between Pastor Dave and his son Christopher concerning the book “Savior”. The subject matter is about the concept and various theories of atonement. The series will cover six theories, posted each Tuesday during lent, concerning the meanings and necessity of what happened on the cross. Please join us for this informative discussion available on Facebook, (Sturgeon Bay United Methodist Church page) and on YouTube, search (David Leistra). This is the same format that our series in during advent was held that received positive feedback from you. He is hoping you will enjoy listening to these discussions and that as you listen you will be in prayer that God will give you light on the subject matter.
Pastor Dave invites you all to worship with us at church at 10:00 AM on Sundays and wants you to know we will continue to offer virtual worship for you if you are unable to join us in person. Best wishes and may God bless you during this Lenten season.
