I have not yet heard from our Church Food Walk committee, and fear that this years walk will not get organized on the community level. Typically we have 5 or more churches participating in the walk. Even if it does not get organized on a community level, there is nothing to stop our Sturgeon Bay UM Church from doing the “walking demonstration” to lift awareness of hunger in our communi- ty. Unless you hear otherwise, I will be at our church at 9:30 AM on Saturday, September 26th to walk a mile or more to support our local food pantries, and I invite any of you to join me.

As our September Mission Project is the Food Walk, we will not be soliciting individual donations for Feed My People, Maplewood Food pantry at Holy Name of Mary Church, and the Community Action Program in Sturgeon Bay. We encourage all of our church members to send/give their donation to the church in September for the Food Walk project. We are all aware that our community feeding programs have been well used and our help to the pantries will be appreciated. Thank you.
