Pastor Dave reflects on the upcoming holiday. Thanksgiving Day brings such joy in our lives. He is excited that we are again having our Thanksgiving Dinner. We are doing takeout and delivery for the homebound only again this year. Please contact the church office if you would like to reserve your meal. He will miss our getting together in the fellowship hall for the Thanksgiving feast with everyone. Hopefully next year we will be together again.
Another event coming up is our Christmas Eve Service. We are hoping to do do two Christmas Eve services this year. The early service will be the family service and for those who are hesitant to drive in the dark. We are asking everyone to wear masks at that service as there may be some individuals that are not yet vaccinated. The later service we will recommend masks but not require them. More information on those services to follow. Please remember if you would like to be away from the main sanctuary, we have the lounge and fellowship hall where you can participate in in the worship service with us. We are doing everything we can to make this a joyful and comfortable service for you. We will upload the service to YouTube and our Website so you can watch the worship service on Christmas Eve are unable to join us.
Pastor Dave is very optimistic about the future of our Christian Church. Yes, there has been some negative facts distributed to us like the declining membership, however, we are also seeing that there is a much larger group of people who are seeking the word of God online. The Gospel message coming through the radio and TV is reaching out to those who are hungry for the Word of God. We here at Sturgeon Bay United Methodist Church will continue to promote the virtual spread of the Christian message as well as here in our worship services. We will continue to honor Jesus Christ and present Him as Lord of All. The message is every bit as powerful as it was 2,000 years ago.
If you are unable to join is for worship in person with us, please find a way to join us virtually. Adult bible study will be available virtually soon along with other new online content. We will list the ways you can find us at the end of this message.
In order to reach people, we need to meet people where they live and where they live right now is online. Please pray for us and let us know if there is anything we can do for you or how we can pray for you. Stay connected and hope to see you Sunday morning if you can make it. If Pastor Dave does not see you personally, he hopes that you spend time with the Lord as He is with us and will never leave us. Be blessed and have a wonderful day.
