Good Morning Everyone,

Hoping this email finds you well.  As we mentioned last week the office doors are now open from 8:00 to 11:00 AM Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.  These hours may extend as things become busier over time; however, we will let you know of any changes.  Pastor Dave has informed me that meetings can now take place here at the church with a reminder that groups larger than 10 should meet in the Fellowship Hall for appropriate spacing.  Masks should be always worn when appropriate.  I will again be keeping a calendar so when meetings are booked, please send me an email or call so I can reserve your room and add your event or meeting to the calendar which at some point will be posted on our website.   It is exciting to see things pick up again and have a glimmer of normal life returning.

A reminder for those who are returning from your winter homes or leaving for your summer homes to please let the church office know so that we can change your address in our database to your current location.

Today on Coffee With the Pastor, Pastor Dave speaks about the upcoming events happening in the church.  Wishing everyone a great day.

Lorna

BREAKTHROUGH PRAYER

Please add this prayer to your prayer time beginning on Easter Sunday, April 4th until Trinity Sunday, May 30th.

Mighty and Holy God, I know all things are possible through you. I ask that you show we the people of Sturgeon Bay and Jacksonport United Methodist Churches the way to flourish in our lives as disciples of your Son Jesus, and to be fruitful in your mission for us. Amen.

RECAP – COFFEE WITH THE PASTOR – Wednesday, May 12, 2021

Pastor Dave is looking forward to the warming weather and all the activities that come with it.  Our return to in person worship services, held at 10:00 AM, has been such a happy reunion for those attending.  We are hoping as people continue to get their vaccinations that more will feel comfortable attending.  We have decided to continue to wear masks while inside the building when with the large group.  We are now serving coffee, and some do sit together at the tables and remove their masks during that time.  If you are comfortable with one another at your table then that is completely up to you.   We value our relationships with one another, and it is who we are as a church.  The visiting after services has been a welcome experience again.

As to the effects of the different time of our worship at 10:00 AM it takes time to edit the upload the recording to YouTube and the website.  What this means is that it will not be available until late in the afternoon on that day.  As previously stated, the WDOR and Public Access TV will be one week behind the actual recording date.  As technology advances, we are hoping to have the virtual worship services will be available sooner.

We have set the vacation bible school to take place August 16th through 19th at 5:00 PM.  There will be a meal served following CDC guidelines.  The program will end at 7:00 PM.  Please update your calendars.  We are looking for volunteers to assist so be thinking about that and leave a message for Angel at the church office, 920-743-3241.  We are also planning for our fall Sunday School program and will keep you posted as details are decided upon.

The Forum will begin soon.  Please reach out to Dave or each other to discuss how we will move forward with that program.  We will hold the Forum at 9:00 AM on Sunday mornings.  Jacksonport will begin outdoor worship service at 8:30 AM on Sunday mornings starting Memorial Day Weekend on Sunday May 30th.   We are hoping as things change, we can move that service inside so we can enjoy the old pump organ and the beauty of that little church again.

Pastor Dave tells us that one of the most important things you can do to help our churches grow and flourish is to invite people.  Ask a neighbor, friend, or family member to join you in worship and introduce them to our church family.  Greet them and sit with them which will help them to feel welcome.  Nothing compares to a simple invitation to others inviting them to share our worship service here at Sturgeon Bay and Jacksonport.   Our ultimate goal is to love God, love our neighbor as ourselves, and to share the experience of Jesus to others.

Until next time….God bless.

God Bless You….

Pastor Dave
