RECAP – COFFEE WITH THE PASTOR – August 18, 2021
There is a lot going on in church this week. Vacation Bible School has been held in the evening and was a great success. Special thank you to those who have helped with this event If you are looking for ways to help, we still need Sunday School Teachers if you are able to volunteer it would be greatly appreciated.
In our worship services for the balance of the summer we are recommending the wearing of masks. We will continue our singing which is an important part of worship so that protection would be helpful in not spreading the virus. We still have the blue marks in the pews to help with social distancing. Anyone in high risk is welcome to go into the fellowship hall as there are speakers in that area. We also have accommodations on the screen in the lounge if a few of you would like to worship with us there. Our building will not close its doors again unless something extraordinary happens. Jacksonport services continue to be held outside unless weather dictates me move indoors. If we have to go indoors, we recommend you wear a mask there as well.
Pastor Dave is hoping to see the membership increase this coming fall. Our membership has declined the past few years, and some are cautious about returning because of Covid now that we are open for worship again. We are taking every precaution to make sure we are safe as we worship together and enjoy the fellowship of one another. We hope you will consider joining us once again.
Pastor Dave & Jackie will be on the road for the first three weeks in September, camping and visiting beautiful North & South Dakoda, Wyoming, Minnesota, and Wisconsin on the way back. This not just a vacation but a time of renewal, reflection, thinking about future goals and spiritual growth. In his absence Communion Sunday will be on September 5th led by Rev. Ken Boettcher. The other two Sunday’s will be led by Paul Schumacher and a Guest Lay Speaker.
Blessings,
Pastor Dave
