RECAP – COFFEE WITH THE PASTOR – WEDNESDAY
APRIL 14, 2021
Pastor Dave says that the place we are at right now is that our members and friends can attend our recording service on Thursdays of each week in April. We had several who joined us last Thursday and it was wonderful to see you. The doors open at 12:00 Noon and are closed at 12:30 PM when the worship service begins. The final Thursday together will be April 22nd. We will then be moving our worship/recording service to 10:00 AM on Sunday beginning May 2nd. The doors will be open by 9:30 AM. Safety protocols regarding sanitizers, masks, and social distancing within your group will still be required until further notice. Collection plates will be on a stand at the back of the church. The communication elements will be distributed in the pews in prepackaged packets. If you would prefer to bring your own elements you are welcome to do so.
Café Joy will not be held initially. Hopefully, we will be able to offer some refreshments sometime in June, but it will not be the full breakfast for the time being. Also, we will not be bringing back the senior ride program just yet. We need to work with the nursing homes to determine when this program can be safely reinstated.
Jacksonport will have its first outdoor service at 8:30 AM May 30th on Memorial Day Weekend. It will continue to be held at 8:30 AM throughout the summer.
In other news, we have set the dates for this year’s Vacation Bible School. It will be held Monday, August 16th through Thursday, August 19th and will be an evening program. Children may begin to arrive at 5:00 PM. The program will run from 5:30 to 7:00 PM. This VBS will be primarily held out of doors. The theme will be announced soon. We will be looking for volunteer leaders and helpers, if you are interested or have questions please contact the church office, Angel Roig our youth ministries coordinator will contact you to provide further details. Additionally, we are currently making our fall plans to start our Sunday school program.
Pastor Dave commented that It was wonderful to have some of you join us last Thursday and he is looking forward to seeing more of you as the summer progresses. It is so uplifting to be talking about returning to some of the activities we normally do together and as the pandemic subsides, we should be able to gather more frequently and safely together.
Blessings,
Pastor Dave
